FG/ASUU: Average Nigerian Student Suffer

When two elephants fight & brawl at each other, the grass suffers. That's just the same with FG/ASUU, as they strife with each other, the poor Nigerian student suffer.

Many of us know for sure that our parents can barely afford the tuition fee of a federal/state school talk less of a private school. Its not their fault though, but for the economic situation of the nation.

We also are aware that many of our ASUU officials have their wards outside the country, a reliable source noted that the ASUU president has 'TWO' kids in a Malaysian university. Our ceremonial FG,
we also know how our politicians use our money to train their kids outside the shores of Nigeria.

Its quite pathetic that since the strike commenced, some rich Nigerians in the Public higher institutions have migrated to Private owned higher institutions and some went far Oversea.

Suffering is just an understatement to the average Nigerian student who cannot afford a Private university tuition, who groans greatly at any increment in the school fees as a means to increase the institution's IGR.

Our dear ASUU/FG has nothing to lose as news reached me that the, 'no work, no pay' is a salary saving strategy as the salaries from September till we resume will be paid in full. That means ASUU earns her salary careless of teaching, they aren't loosing any bit.

Life goes on with FG as they go about their daily business careless of one student roaming the street as a result of being forced off school. They aren't loosing any bit.

We, the average Nigerian students are loosing a great deal in this contest of titans.
Many students cannot serve as they have not defended their degree. Many students will stay a year more in their ivory towers due to crumpled academic calendar. Many students have died (young and old) in the course of this strike to mention a few.

Its imperative at this point for FG to consider implementing the ASUU/FG agreement because the lack of it can cause Nigerian Students to cry as institutions will consider skyrocketed increment of tuition fee, etc to generate IGR. An example of that occurred when Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta increased her acceptance fee from #25,000 to #40,000; many student forfeited the costly admission because its fast becoming unaffordable.

At this point everyone is minding his business, its quite important that we Nigerian students unite in one voice and speak. Democracy is for the people, we are part of the people, we have our role to play.

If we wont continue to suffer, its a decision that lies in our capacity.
Greatest Nigerian Students, I remain my humble self
